More horses cooling of in the few pools of water.  We are moving towards the Gobi desert so camels are becoming more common, but I'm not putting any pictures of camels up because they are pretty rubbish animals.

Using the local well.

Is he going to make it???

'The Greatest Hero Of Them All'

Good find this campsite.  There was a HUGE nest in the tree on the right.

Did a bit of caving in the morning.  There was supposed to be a huge underground lake, but we only found a couple of small normal caves.  The GPS reference in Lonely Planet for the underground lake took us to the gate of a big tourist campsite...  suspect.

An old Buddhist monastery.  Apparently there are still a couple of monks living here.

The view from the top of the rock face behind the monastery.  None of our pictures really captured the whole scene, so this one will have to do.

See that big fork in the road in the distance?  It doesn't matter which way you go, you get to the same place eventually.

This picture shows the extent of 'truckers arm' that I had got.  It also shows that we have finally made it to the desert proper.

And it's a pretty big place.  You can just see the campsite.

Gratuitous artsy photo.
